Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice will bring his special 25th anniversary tour of his debut album "O" to Hong Kong for two nights in February 2027, with tickets going on public sale on Oct. 23 at prices starting from HK$490.
The tour, marking 25 years since the release of "O", will feature performances in just 25 cities worldwide. The concerts will take place at the Grand Theatre of the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District on Feb. 24 and 25, 2027.
Rice's live performances are known for their intimate atmosphere and emotional depth. Against the evocative setting of the Xiqu Centre's stage, he will revisit the classic songs that have moved audiences over the past 25 years.
Released in 2002, "O" was Rice's debut album. Built around acoustic guitar, cello, clarinet and unadorned vocals, the album combines emotional subtlety with intensity, creating an intimate and melancholic folk sound.
The album features several of Rice's best-known songs, including "Cannonball", "Volcano" and "Delicate", as well as "The Blower's Daughter", which later became the theme song of the film "Closer".
