Delegations of city officials from multiple countries participating in the 2026 World Mayors Dialogue · Luoyang visited YTO Group Corporation recently for an immersive test drive of intelligent Dongfanghong tractors. The iconic Chinese agricultural machinery brand has undergone major upgrades in intelligence and green technology, earning high praise from visiting foreign mayors, who got first-hand experience of the strength of advanced manufacturing in China.
A lineup of flagship models sold worldwide was displayed at the site, including hydrogen-powered, driverless and high-horsepower intelligent tractors. Mayors took turns getting behind the wheel to test the steering and smart operating systems. The venue buzzed with excitement, filled with cheers and camera shutters.
"It drives just like a car!" said Julio Zamora, Mayor of Tigre, Argentina, after his test drive. He noted that high-horsepower intelligent farm machinery is rarely seen in Latin America. He was deeply impressed by the user-friendly controls and powerful performance. The visit showcased Luoyang's robust high-end equipment industry. He expressed hope for in-depth cooperation between the two regions in modern agriculture and agricultural machinery technology.
John Mahu Macharia, Trade and Economic Director of Nakuru County, Kenya, also spoke highly of Dongfanghong equipment. In his view, Chinese manufacturing today is far more than exporting standalone products. It delivers complete, eco-friendly, efficient and precision smart solutions for modern farming, which suit large-scale agricultural development in Africa. He hopes to introduce Luoyang's advanced agricultural machinery and technology to accelerate local agricultural modernization.
For decades, Dongfanghong tractors have tapped into global markets, with products exported to numerous countries and regions. Overseas assembly lines have been built in Africa, realizing full-scale global expansion covering product sales, technology transfer and industrial chain collaboration. Earlier, the President of the Republic of the Congo personally test-drove and purchased Dongfanghong tractors, becoming one of the first owners of the model — solid proof of the global reputation and reliable quality of this homegrown farm machinery brand.
