On Oct. 13, local time, French President Emmanuel Macron met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and said on social media that the day marked a new milestone: Nvidia will not only invest in French companies but also support a Franco-German initiative aimed at advancing open research in Europe.
Macron said that since the "Choose France" summit, cooperation with Nvidia has continued to accelerate, covering areas from startups and major industrial giants to computing infrastructure and scientific research. He added that it is especially valuable that they share the same vision: developing open, secure AI that serves national sovereignty.
Huang's Paris trip included minority equity investments in four French AI startups: Doctolib, Genesis AI, Pigment and Entalpic. Huang announced plans to add US$2 billion in European AI investment, expected to be implemented within the following week.
