The new China-DPRK border bridge over the Yalu River, located in Dandong, Liaoning Province, opened to traffic in both directions today (Oct. 15). At approximately 10:34 am, ten vehicles on the Chinese side sounded their horns in unison and slowly drove towards the North Korean border gate, which was adorned with giant national flags of both countries. This marks the official opening of the new Yalu River Bridge, which has been in operation for 12 years.
The new Yalu River Bridge is an important infrastructure for connectivity between the two countries. Its opening will further promote economic and trade exchanges and people-to-people exchanges, enhancing the well-being of the people of both nations.
