A historic moment! The rebuilt Huanggang Port officially opened at 6:30 am today (Oct. 12), providing 24-hour customs clearance services for passengers and vehicles. With the opening of the new Huanggang Port, the old Huanggang Port, currently in use, has ceased operation.
The new Huanggang Port is the only 24-hour land boundary crossing between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It boasts a large number of inspection channels in both directions (180 lanes), capable of handling an average of 200,000 passengers per day, with a maximum designed throughput of 300,000 passengers.
The new Huanggang Port employs a new customs clearance model. In the "Collaborative Inspection and Joint Clearance" fast lane, passengers only need to queue once and have their information collected once to complete both mainland and Hong Kong boundary inspection procedures simultaneously, completing entry and exit formalities on both sides in one go. The entire clearance time has been reduced from 30 minutes to approximately 5 minutes, with the fastest facial recognition clearance taking only 20 seconds, significantly improving clearance speed.
The new Huanggang Port also undertakes the special task of providing cross-border medical assistance between Shenzhen and Hong Kong at night. If a critically ill patient needs to be transferred between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the port can activate a green channel at any time to transport the patient, day or night.
