Financial Secretary Paul Chan continued his Bangkok visit today (Oct. 17), meeting Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas to discuss closer economic, trade and financial cooperation.
Chan said Hong Kong, as an international financial centre, can provide full investment and financing support for Thai businesses, while strengthening regulatory cooperation between the two securities markets and encouraging dual listings. He also highlighted Hong Kong's role as a bridge linking mainland China's technology strengths with Thailand's industrial needs. He thanked the Deputy PM for attending the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting in Hong Kong and invited him to the Asian Financial Forum next January.
Chan also met the CEO and management team of a major French bank with extensive Hong Kong operations, discussing fixed income and money markets, green and sustainable finance, tokenised products and wealth management. He welcomed the group's continued expansion in Hong Kong.
