A fire broke out in Jordan. At 9:29 am today (Oct. 29), a restaurant on the ground floor of 192–194 Nathan Road, opposite Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station, caught fire and emitted smoke. Firefighters arrived at the scene to fight the blaze, which was quickly extinguished. Customers evacuated on their own.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire started in the restaurant kitchen's exhaust hood. No one was injured.
The Transport Department said that the entire section of Austin Road (towards Hung Hom) between Nathan Road and Cox's Road is closed; the slow lane of Nathan Road (towards Salisbury Road) near Austin Road was temporarily closed and has now reopened. Motorists can only use the remaining lanes. Traffic in the area is currently heavy.
