A burst water pipe occurred in Shau Kei Wan. At around 10 am today (Oct. 27), an underground water pipe burst at a roadside works site near the westbound carriageway outside 318 Shau Kei Wan Road. According to online video, the moment the pipe burst, large amounts of muddy water gushed out, flooding the pavement and both directions of Shau Kei Wan Road. Buses drove through the water, and the scene resembled a flooded landscape.
Reports say that due to the burst pipe, a glass window at a residential care home nearby shattered, and fragments injured an elderly woman's leg.
The Transport Department announced that due to the burst pipe, the slow lane of Shau Kei Wan Road (towards North Point) near Shing Shing Street has been closed. Motorists can only use the remaining lanes. Traffic in the area is currently heavy.
