The player lineup for the 2026 Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open has been officially revealed. Among the first batch of 43 names, all of the world's top 10 players will compete, with 10 Grand Slam singles champions and 5 players who have reached world No. 1 gathering in Wuhan — a star-studded field. Zheng Qinwen, who recently impressed at the US Open, will also return to her home province of Hubei to compete this year.

All Top 10 Players to Compete

This year's Wuhan Open lineup represents a concentration of the best in women's tennis. Three-time Grand Slam champion and newly crowned world No. 1 Elena Rybakina leads the field, with all four 2026 Grand Slam women's singles champions — including French Open champion Mirra Andreeva and Wimbledon champion Linda Nosková — set to compete in Wuhan.

Four-time Grand Slam champion and three-time Wuhan Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, two-time Grand Slam champion and defending champion Coco Gauff, and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Świątek are among the many star names set to take to the courts.

While international stars gather, the performance of Chinese players is also drawing attention. Wang Xinyu has qualified directly for the main draw based on her world ranking. As a key figure in Chinese women's tennis, she will compete alongside the world's best, cheered on by home fans.

Meanwhile, Zheng Qinwen, who recently delivered a strong performance at the US Open, will also return home to compete this year. In 2024, she reached the final, setting the best-ever result for a Chinese player at the Wuhan Open. Returning to home soil this year, Zheng will compete alongside many of the world's top players, with fans hoping she can continue her fine form and achieve another strong result on familiar ground.

The Season's Final WTA 1000 Event

The 2026 Wuhan Open will be held from October 10 to 18 at the Optics Valley International Tennis Centre, featuring 106 matches. Singles and doubles champions will each earn 1,000 WTA points, with total prize money reaching US$4.08 million.

As the season enters its second half, competition for world rankings, year-end points, and season results will intensify further. As the final WTA 1000 event of the year, Wuhan is not only a key stage for players to compete for the title, but also a crucial stop for pursuing season goals and securing a better year-end ranking.
