In response to media inquiries, the MTR said it had taken note of the online footage and was treating the matter seriously. After reviewing CCTV footage, it is believed the incident occurred at around 11 pm on Aug. 23. The company has reported the case to the police and will step up monitoring at stations. Passengers who suspect any breach of bylaws are encouraged to notify station staff immediately for prompt follow-up.

Police said they received a report from MTR staff at 10:39 am on Sept. 5, stating that on Aug. 23, 36 people had attempted to exit through the gates by following a man. The case has been classified as "miscellaneous" for follow-up.
