At 6:45 am today (July 23), police received a report that a monkey had been seen on the tracks at MTR Kowloon Bay Station. By the time officers arrived, the monkey had already left the track area and was reportedly seen on a nearby footbridge over Kwun Tong Road. MTR later announced that the animal (a monkey) had voluntarily left the track area, and Kwun Tong Line services were gradually returning to normal.

Earlier, MTR announced that due to an animal entering the track area near Kowloon Bay Station on the Kwun Tong Line, trains in both directions would be required to slow down when passing through the affected section. Services between Tiu Keng Leng and Whampoa stations maintained a frequency of one train every 3.5 minutes, with overall travel times (end-to-end) extended by an additional 5 to 8 minutes. MTR staff were handling the incident, and passengers were advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
