On Sep. 7, Huawei launched the Mate XT 2 tri-fold smartphone in Guangzhou, equipped with the latest Kirin 9050 Pro chip.
This is the first high-performance chip to adopt logical folding technology. Reportedly, the Kirin 9050 Pro arranges logic units in layered stacks within a single chip, akin to upgrading from a single-story layout to a multi-level duplex. It incorporates vertical interconnect channels, comparable to installing "elevators", resulting in shorter signal transmission paths, lower latency, and enhanced performance.
This marks Huawei's introduction of a new Kirin chip at a flagship launch event for the first time in six years, since the global release of the Huawei Mate 40.
