The Hong Kong Observatory forecasts that Hong Kong will be generally cloudy today (Sept 6) with a few showers. The minimum temperature in the morning will be around 27°C. There will be brief sunny spells during the day. The maximum temperature in urban areas will be around 31°C, with temperatures about 1 to 2 degrees higher in the New Territories. Winds will be light.
Looking ahead, the next few days will see sunny periods, with one or two showers.
The Observatory said that winds along the Guangdong coast will remain weak over the next one to two days. Meanwhile, a broad band of cloud will gradually extend over the South China coast, bringing a few showers to the region. As the cloud band thins, it will be generally sunny over South China in the middle of next week. A northeast monsoon is expected to affect South China in the mid-to-late part of next week. In the latter part of next week, a broad area of low pressure may gradually develop over the central South China Sea, leading to unsettled weather in the region.
