'Mambo Girl' star Grace Chang passes away at 93

Hong Kong screen legend Grace Chang passed away on the afternoon of Aug. 3 at the age of 93.

Born in 1933, Chang was a renowned Chinese-language singer and actress who rose to prominence during the 1950s and 1960s. Celebrated for her versatility as a singer, actress and dancer, she starred in a string of classic Chinese-language musical films and was widely regarded as one of the greatest musical film stars of her generation.

Her best-known works include "Mambo Girl", "Spring Song", "The Wild, Wild Rose". Among them, "Sun, Moon and Star" is widely regarded as a classic of Chinese-language cinema. Several songs featured in the film remain widely performed today and continue to have a lasting influence.
