Veteran actor Patrick Tse, passed away today (July 20) at the age of 89. His son, Nicholas Tse, who had been preparing for the Qingdao leg of his "Evolution Nic Live" concert scheduled for July 25 and 26 in the Mainland, has returned to Hong Kong discreetly to arrange his father's funeral affairs.
Nicholas Tse expressed his deep regret in announcing that his father, Patrick Tse, has passed away.
Nicholas said that Patrick dedicated his entire life to film and entertainment, hoping to bring joy and smiles to every audience member. "I saw him in moments of worry and low spirits when I was young, but no matter what, he always insisted on appearing before the camera in his best form," Nicholas recalled.
Nicholas remembered that Patrick often said: "The show must go on."
"So if you think of Patrick Tse, my father, there's no need to cry or be too sad — he would think that's not cool enough. It's enough that we keep his perfect, charismatic, smiling image forever in our hearts," Nicholas added.
Jennifer Tse also posted on social media, confirming the passing of her father.
The post read: "It is with great sorrow that we announce to everyone the passing of our beloved father, Mr. Patrick Tse."
"He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. After a period of declining health, he calmly concluded a brilliant and fulfilling life."
