At around 12 noon today (July 4), a white Tesla in Kowloon Bay allegedly ran a red light near the junction of Kai Cheung Road and Wang Kwong Road, smashing broadside into a KMB bus that was passing through.
Police stated that at 11:56 am today, the private car and the bus collided at the junction of Kai Cheung Road and Wang Kwong Road. No one was injured in the incident, and the cause is under investigation.
In-car camera footage posted online shows the involved Tesla traveling southbound along Kai Cheung Road. Before reaching the junction with Wang Kwong Road, it switched from the second left lane to the third left lane. At that time, the traffic light on Kai Cheung Road had already turned red, and vehicles on Wang Kwong Road had begun to move off. However, the Tesla continued straight through the junction, resulting in a broadside impact with the KMB bus.
Netizens have flooded the comments section, questioning whether the driver was distracted, with some admonishing, "If you don't value your life, don't drag others down with you!"
