At 12:43 pm today (May 20), a fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant on the ground floor of No. 32 Lam Hing Street, Kowloon Bay. The fire affected the exhaust duct, which emitted large amounts of thick smoke. In an instant, billowing smoke engulfed the street, creating a dramatic scene. Pedestrians scrambled to take cover, while some vehicles continued to drive through the smoke. Firefighters extinguished the blaze about seven minutes after arriving at the scene. Five people were evacuated, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
