Yesterday afternoon (May 17), a 16-year-old boy was struck by a private car in Cheung Sha Wan, near Yee Ching Court Estate, after allegedly running into a traffic lane while chasing after a bus to take a photo. Today (May 18), a dashboard camera video capturing the moment of the incident surfaced online.
The footage shows a vehicle turning right from Yen Chow Street into the middle lane of Cheung Sha Wan Road. In the distance, over a dozen people were standing in the fast lane of Cheung Sha Wan Road toward Mei Foo, near Yee Ching Court Estate, holding devices to photograph a bus. As the vehicle passed by, one of the teenagers suddenly dashed into the middle lane. Although the car braked sharply, it still struck the boy, and his camera was sent flying from his hand.
According to reports, the teenager was chasing after a KMB Enviro500 MMC 12-meter bus (fleet number ATENU1466) when the accident occurred. That bus is wrapped with an advertisement for Ivy So's single "SMILE (Not for Sale)."
