At around 8 am today (May 12), a three-vehicle collision occurred on the Western Harbour Crossing in the direction of Hong Kong Island, involving two private cars and a truck. Two private car drivers were injured in the accident. One of the drivers, a woman, was conscious but suffered a neck injury and was temporarily trapped inside her vehicle before being rescued. Both were later taken by ambulance to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
The Transport Department announced that the fast lane of the Western Harbour Crossing (toward Hong Kong Island), which had been closed earlier due to a traffic accident, has now reopened. Traffic congestion is expected to clear gradually.
