A police officer attached to the East Kowloon Regional Tactical Unit accidentally discharged a service pistol at the East Kowloon Regional Headquarters today (May 16), with no injuries reported.
The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. while the officer was loading ammunition into the service weapon in a designated loading area inside the headquarters.
The firearm was suspected to have discharged accidentally, firing one round.
Police said strict regulations are in place regarding the use of equipment and that the case is being handled by the Kowloon East Regional Headquarters.
