Wakana Yamazaki, the longtime voice actress of Ran Mouri in the anime series "Detective Conan", has passed away at the age of 61.

Her talent agency announced on May 15 that Yamazaki passed away on April 18.

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, in 1965, Yamazaki had voiced Ran Mouri since the television anime adaptation of "Detective Conan" first aired in 1996. She portrayed the character for nearly 30 years.

In February this year, Yamazaki suspended her voice acting activities due to health issues.

Following the announcement of her death, Gosho Aoyama and the anime production team released statements expressing their condolences.

The role of Ran Mouri is currently being temporarily voiced by Akemi Okamura.
