According to Xinhua News, US President Donald Trump posted on social media on May 3 that the US will begin a rerouting operation in the Middle East starting on the morning of May 4, "guiding" vessels that are stuck in the Strait of Hormuz to leave the area.
Trump said that the vessels trapped in the Strait of Hormuz come from countries around the world. He said he had notified the relevant parties that the US would guide their ships and crews to safely sail out of the strait.
Iran: Any US interference with the "Strait of Hormuz management plan" will be considered a violation of the ceasefire agreement
In response, in the early hours of May 4, the chairman of Iran's National Security Commission, Ebrahim Azizi, posted on social media that any interference by the US in the "Strait of Hormuz management plan" would be regarded as a violation of the ceasefire agreement. Azizi also said, "The Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf will not be governed by Trump's delusional posts."
According to Iranian media reports from May 2, Ali Nikzad, the first deputy speaker of Iran's Parliament, said that the parliament would approve a "Strait of Hormuz management plan." Its provisions include a permanent ban on Israeli ships passing through this key waterway; ships from hostile states must pay war reparations to obtain permission to transit; other ships must obtain authorization from Iran to pass.
