According to CCTV News, citing US sources on May 2, based on Iran's latest negotiation proposal, Tehran no longer demands that the US lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz before face-to-face talks between representatives of the two countries.

According to two senior Iranian officials, Iran has also agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz before the US officially announces the lifting of the blockade. However, Iranian officials stated that although Iran will reopen the strait under this proposal, it will not discuss the nuclear issue with the US until a permanent ceasefire is achieved.

On May 2, US sources cited by media said that Iran submitted a new negotiation proposal to the US on April 30, containing 14 points and setting a one-month negotiation deadline. The proposal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the US naval blockade, and permanently ending hostilities in Iran and Lebanon. According to sources, under Iran's new proposal, after an agreement is reached on the 14 points, all parties would then hold another month of negotiations on the nuclear issue.

On May 2nd, Iran disclosed the contents of its latest negotiation proposal, transmitted to the US via Pakistani mediators, totaling 14 points focused on "ending the war." The main contents include ensuring no further military aggression, withdrawing US troops from areas surrounding Iran, lifting the naval blockade, unfreezing Iran's frozen assets, paying compensation, lifting sanctions, achieving peace on all fronts (including Lebanon), and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. Sources also noted that Iran is awaiting an official response from the US.

On May 2 local time, US President Donald Trump stated that he would soon review the conflict resolution proposal just submitted by Iran, but expressed skepticism about its acceptability. Trump said it is hard to imagine the proposal being accepted.
