According to a report by China News Service citing foreign media, the White House posted a one-hour video on social media on May 2, featuring President Trump repeatedly saying "winning."
The White House captioned the video: "President Trump saying WINNING for 1 hour."
Analysts point out that the White House's latest video reinforces Trump's propaganda efforts regarding "winning the Iran war and making progress in major policy areas." However, some critics have questioned whether the timing of the video is appropriate amid escalating global tensions and rising domestic divisions in the United States.
US netizens offered even harsher comments. One user wrote, "Repeating something incorrect, even for an hour, doesn't make it correct. By the way, how are gas prices?" Another asked, "Winning what? Another war in the Middle East, gas is out of control. Israel still controls our country. We are not winning at all." Others posted mocking images.
On April 1, US President Trump delivered a national televised address, claiming a "swift, decisive, and overwhelming victory" in the Iran war. At the end of April, Trump reiterated in an interview with Fox News that he believes the Iran war will end soon and the US will win, adding that if Iran wants to negotiate, it can call the US, saying, "Hopefully Iran will be smart."
Public opinion generally believes that Trump's remarks did not provide a clear timeline for ending the Iran war, nor did they alleviate the anxiety of the American public or global market concerns over energy supplies.
