On the third day of the May Day holiday (May 3), popular tourist spots were crowded with visitors, including the "newly emerging" hotspot, Kowloon Park, where the Mainland tourists were drawn to the "purple fountain."
The Hong Kong Observatory issued an amber rainstorm signal yesterday afternoon. Despite the downpour, crowds of tourists continued to flock to Kowloon Park, holding umbrellas and covering their shoes with plastic bags, undeterred as they took photos at the fountain. A tourist from Shenzhen said they came because of a post on the social media platform Xiaohongshu mentioning the "purple fountain." They initially thought the water in the fountain was purple, but discovered it was not upon arrival and joked, "Maybe there's a bit of photo editing involved."
