Citybus launched a special bus tour, "H79 Striding into the Northern Metropolis," today (May 3), becoming the first vehicle and bus to enter the Pak Shek Kok Bypass (East Section).
The tour departed from the University Station at around 7:30 am and arrived at the entrance to the bypass exactly at 8:00 am. The buses then entered the new stretch of road with engineering vehicles and police escorting the way. The entire trip takes about two hours, and it also passes through several Citybus service areas, including Tai Po, Sha Tin, Heung Yuen Wai, Tolo Harbour, and Hong Kong Science Park. Each participant receives a participation certificate and a souvenir.
A Citybus spokesperson said the company noticed that passengers are highly interested in major infrastructure projects coming into operation. They added that as the Pak Shek Kok Bypass is the first major infrastructure completion project for the Northern Metropolis, it is of special significance. With this in mind, Citybus planned the themed bus tour. After tickets went on sale, it sold out quickly. Citybus then added another daytime tour to meet demand, and is expected to carry nearly 80 visitors for the full day. Citybus will continue to monitor demand and develop more innovative services in the future.
