On the second day of five-day Labor Day holiday ("Golden Week"), the Immigration Department said that as of 9 pm on May 2, all entry and exit checkpoints together recorded more than 1.086 million passenger arrivals and departures.
In terms of arrivals, there were about 549,000 entries. Mainland travelers accounted for more than 256,000 passenger trips. Most Mainland visitors came to Hong Kong via the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point, followed by the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station.
For departures, there were more than 537,000 passenger trips leaving Hong Kong, of which about 330,000 were Hong Kong residents. The majority departed via the Lo Wu Control Point, followed by the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point.
