According to CCTV International News, Israel carried out airstrikes on the central district of Lebanon's capital, Beirut, today (March 18), killing at least six people and injuring 24. Israeli strikes on Beirut had previously been largely concentrated in the southern suburbs, but since renewed exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and Lebanon's Hezbollah on March 2, the Israeli military has launched multiple strikes on Beirut's central areas.

Lebanese authorities reported that at around 1:30 am (local time) today, several floors of two apartment buildings in downtown Beirut were destroyed and that the Israeli military did not issue advance warnings, resulting in six deaths and 24 injuries. At about 5:30 am, a more powerful strike completely flattened an entire building near Beirut's city centre.

According to Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health, from the early hours of March 2 through the evening of March 17, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed 912 people and injured 2,221. At the same time, Israeli strikes continue to escalate nationwide across Lebanon.
