According to reports from CCTV International News, residents in parts of Dubai, UAE, received mobile alerts this morning (March 17) warning them to seek immediate shelter in the nearest safe building due to a "potential missile threat." They were advised to stay away from doors and windows and not to remain outdoors until the alert was lifted. The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that it is responding to missile and drone threats from Iran.
Iran has accused the UAE's Al Dhafra Air Base of "being the source of US attacks on Iranian islands" and has recently launched multiple attacks on targets within the UAE.
On March 16, a drone attack near Dubai International Airport resulted in a fire at a fuel tank close to the airport, which burned intensely, although fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Dubai government has confirmed that the incident was related to the drone attack.
