The Hong Kong Mark Six lottery will hold its Chinese New Year's draw tonight (Jan. 21), with the Jockey Club estimating that the first prize will be won with a HK$10 bet, allowing the lucky winner to take home a staggering HK$200 million. This would mark the highest jackpot in the history of the Mark Six lottery since its launch 50 years ago. Off-site betting locations began service at 11 am today. As of 8 am this morning, the total betting amount has exceeded HK$208 million.
According to information from the Jockey Club, since the introduction of 49 numbers in July 2002, there have been 23 draws during the Chinese New Year. The number "15" has been drawn the most, appearing seven times; followed by "10," "36," "43," and "48," each appearing six times.
In terms of the colors of the drawn number balls, blue accounted for 40%, followed by red, while green only made up 26%. The most frequently drawn numbers were those between 10 and 19, comprising 24% of the draws, followed by the numbers from 40 to 49, which accounted for 22%. The proportions of the other three groups were similar, with numbers from 1 to 9 being the least common at only 17%.
