Hong Kong welcomes the start of spring today (Feb. 4), marked by the traditional Chinese solar term "Li Chun."

The Hong Kong Observatory reports that a moderate easterly airstream is currently affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong. Today's weather will be mostly cloudy with occasional light rain in the morning.

The day will begin cool with brief periods of sunshine later. Temperatures are expected to range between 17°C and 21°C. Winds will be moderate easterly, occasionally strong offshore at first.

Looking ahead, the Observatory forecasts slightly humid and warm weather during the next day or two. However, wind speeds are expected to strengthen over the weekend, leading to a significant drop in temperature.

On Sunday and Monday, the minimum temperature is predicted to fall to around 13°C.
