According to reports from Myanmar's state media, local authorities have completely demolished 635 illegal buildings involved in online fraud operations at the KK Park, located along the border with Thailand.

The Myanmar government stated that on Jan. 9, authorities demolished the final two four-story illegal buildings in Zone 2 of the Myawaddy-Metawalei area (i.e., KK Park), as well as five two-story illegal buildings in Zone 3 of KK Park. With this action, all illegal structures within KK Park, which were used for online fraud and gambling activities, have been completely demolished, totaling 635 buildings—148 in Zone 1, 62 in Zone 2, and 425 in Zone 3.

The Myanmar side noted that the demolition work was carried out using a combination of controlled blasting and heavy machinery. To ensure thorough removal, since Dec. 14, relevant departments have further cleared the area using burn barrels. Officials stated that illegal buildings in other regions will continue to be demolished in the same manner.

The Myanmar government emphasized that eradicating online fraud and gambling activities is a national responsibility and reiterated its commitment to preventing such criminal activities from taking root in the region. It will continue to cooperate with domestic law enforcement agencies and neighboring governments to eliminate these activities.
