A northeast monsoon has brought noticeably cooler weather to Hong Kong today (Dec. 26). Temperatures this morning were generally 4-6°C lower than yesterday, with urban areas recording a minimum of around 13°C, while the New Territories saw even colder conditions, dropping by 2-3°C further.
The Hong Kong Observatory has issued a special weather reminder, predicting that the mornings and evenings will remain cool tomorrow. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather changes, dress warmly, and pay special attention to the elderly and individuals with chronic illnesses.
Today's weather is forecast to be mostly cloudy and dry, with brief periods of sunshine during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 17°C, accompanied by moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly winds.
Looking ahead, the Observatory predicts mostly sunny weather from the weekend to early next week, but cooler mornings will persist. The temperature difference between day and night will be significant, especially in inland areas. A slight rebound in temperatures is expected by the middle of next week.
