Louis Koo, Tony Wu, and German Cheung, who were scheduled to represent the movie "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In", have officially canceled their participation in the Tokyo Comic Con, scheduled for Dec. 5–7. The decision was made in light of the severe fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, which has caused significant casualties and deeply shaken the Hong Kong community.
In a video statement released on Nov. 28, the trio, dressed in black and visibly somber, addressed fans and organizers. Speaking on behalf of the group, Louis Koo said: "The tragic fire in Tai Po has caused major loss of life and deeply saddened everyone in HK, including us. At this sorrowful moment, we are unable to attend this event with a normal mindset. Therefore, we will not be participating in the Tokyo Comic Con on Dec. 5 and 6. We sincerely apologize to fans planning to attend and to the event organizers for any inconvenience caused. Finally, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and wish the injured a speedy recovery."
The Tokyo Comic Con organizers also issued a statement on social media, confirming the cancellation and expressing understanding of the circumstances: "A large-scale fire occurred in HK on Nov. 26, requiring substantial attention and support. As a result, the originally planned visit to Japan has been canceled. We apologize to attendees who were looking forward to seeing the three guests but hope for your understanding of the current situation in HK. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy."
Separately, German Cheung announced on his social media that his personal birthday fan meeting event would also be postponed due to the incident.
