Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan, along with the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Erick Tsang, met with the media this morning (Nov. 26) to discuss the arrangements for distributing appreciation cards to voters during the 2025 Legislative Council election. They announced that on December 6, an election fun day will be held with a series of diverse activities across various districts to engage the public in the upcoming election.

Chan highlighted that one of the key attractions will be the "Let's Vote, Together We Create the Future Gala" at the West Kowloon Cultural District on the evening of December 6, featuring performances from various artists, magic shows, large dance displays, and interactive segments to celebrate public support for the election. Additionally, carnivals will take place in multiple locations on December 6, including a civic education carnival at Tai Po Waterfront Park and land and water experience activities at Wan Chai and North Point waterfronts. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will host interactive activities filled with sports elements at six venues, and various government departments will hold exhibitions and booth games with diverse themes, such as showcasing antique and electric buses at the KMB Yuet Lun St. Depot. Eight disciplined services will also have activities or open facilities, including the Tsing Yi Fire Station and the Government Service Team helipad at Sai Kung's Tai Mei Tuk and Tai Mo Shan.

Chan announced that to encourage voting, the government will offer free access to certain facilities under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department on the voting day and the day before, December 6 and 7. This includes public swimming pools, the Hong Kong Space Museum, the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and the Hong Kong Wetland Park. He emphasized that all citizens can use these facilities for free, regardless of whether they vote.

Moreover, citizens recycling with "GREEN@COMMUNITY" will earn double points, and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will conduct election publicity activities in markets on December 6 and 7, giving out small gifts to the public. Residents shopping at Housing Authority malls, markets, and the Yau Tong Domain shopping center can enjoy an additional hour of free parking for purchases over a specified amount. There will also be multiple offers for visiting historical sites, including free guided tours at the declared monument King Yin Lei on Saturdays and Sundays starting December 6.

Chan expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic response from various sectors in promoting the election, hoping more organizations and businesses will continue to join.
