A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally sunny weather to southern China. The Hong Kong Observatory reports that coastal areas will experience mainly fine and warm conditions today and tomorrow (Nov. 16 and Nov. 17). However, a cold front is expected to reach the Guangdong coast between Monday night (Nov. 17) and early Tuesday (Nov. 18), bringing significantly cooler weather and strong winds midweek. Inland areas may experience cold conditions. Temperatures are forecast to rebound later in the week as the monsoon moderates.
Today will be mainly cloudy with sunny periods and a minimum temperature of around 18°C. Monday will be generally sunny and dry during the daytime, turning cloudy at night with a low of around 21°C. Tuesday will see a significant temperature drop to 15-21°C with cloudy conditions and occasional light rain. The mercury will fall further on Wednesday morning, with a minimum temperature of around 13°C.
According to regional weather forecasts, parts of the New Territories may experience cold conditions on Wednesday morning, with Tai Po and Sheung Shui at 11°C and Ta Kwu Ling potentially dropping to 10°C.
