On Oct. 25, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced via its official website that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a critical federal food aid program, will cease operations starting Nov. 1 due to a lack of funding.
The USDA confirmed that no benefits will be distributed after Nov. 1, as funds for the program have been exhausted.
SNAP currently supports approximately 42 million Americans, primarily low-income individuals, including seniors, people with disabilities, and families in need.
The program allows beneficiaries to use government-subsidized food stamps to purchase groceries at assigned stores.
