China's national team swept both the men's and women's titles with identical 3-0 victories in the finals of the ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships in Bhubaneswar, India, on Wednesday (Oct. 15), while the men's team from Hong Kong, China, earned the silver medal, marking the SAR's best showing at the men's team event.
In the men's team final, Lin Shidong set the tone by defeating Wong Chun-ting 3-0 in the opening match. Wang Chuqin followed with a 3-1 win against Chan Baldwin Ho-wah, and Liang Jingkun sealed the victory with a commanding 3-0 triumph over Yiu Kwan-to.
On the women's side, the national team delivered a great performance in the final against Japan. Wang Manyu secured a 3-1 win over Honoka Hashimoto in the opening match. Sun Yingsha followed up with a swift 3-0 victory against Miwa Harimoto, and Kuai Man clinched the title with a 3-1 win over Hina Hayata.
After the competition, China's national team and the team of HK, China, shared a heartwarming group photo. The national flag of China and the flag of HKSAR shone brightly on the field, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
