The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) announced that the warning signal has been downgraded to Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 8:20 p.m. today (Sept. 24), as Severe Tropical Storm Ragasa made landfall in Yangjiang, Guangdong, and continues to move further away from HK.
Under the influence of Ragasa's outer rainbands, HK is expected to experience occasional squally showers and thunderstorms over the next two days. Heavy rain is likely at first, while seas will remain very rough with significant swells.
The HKO urges the public to stay vigilant, avoid coastal areas, and cease water-based activities.
