Super Typhoon Ragasa has been sweeping through the northern regions of the Philippines since September 22 local time. According to reports from Philippine media, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated on Sept. 22 that Ragasa has further intensified as it moves northwest. As of 11 pm local time on Sept. 21, the storm's maximum sustained winds were recorded at 205 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching 250 kilometers per hour.
Residents in Batanes, an island province in the Philippines, posted videos on social media showing that strong surges have begun to inundate low-lying coastal areas, and there are already significant rain bands making landfall in the area. Additionally, the resident captured footage of vortices forming above the sea surface when rain bands of varying intensities intersect.
