Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee is set to deliver his fourth Policy Address today (Sept. 17), featuring a green-colored cover and the theme of deepening reform, taking care of people's livelihood, leveraging on advantage, and building a better future. Lee emphasized that the Policy Address encompasses short-, medium-, and long-term strategies, centering primarily on economic development and public well-being, which reflect his governance philosophy over the years.
Lee extended his gratitude to citizens and organizations for their valuable input during the consultation process. After the Policy Address is delivered, Lee and his team will visit various organizations to provide explanations and garner public support, pledging to implement the vision outlined in the address.
The green cover of this year's Policy Address continues the tradition of using the same color. Lee explained that green symbolizes vitality, continuity, and the ongoing prosperity and energy of HK. It reflects the government's commitment to advancing year by year toward a brighter future.
To prepare this year's Policy Address, Lee and his team held over 40 consultation sessions and engaged directly with the community through in-person meetings. They also received more than 10,000 submissions via multiple channels.
The full text of the Policy Address will be available online after Lee's speech. Additionally, printed copies and related publications will be distributed at 20 Home Affairs Enquiry Centres under the Home Affairs Department.
