Mainland e-commerce platforms are fully entering the Hong Kong physical retail market, providing consumers with new choices. JD.com (9618) has officially completed its acquisition of the Hong Kong chain brand, Kai Bo Food Supermarket, and plans to offer self-branded products in the market. Yesterday (Aug. 16), Kai Bo Food Supermarket's shelves featured dozens of "JD-branded" items. The Kai Bo store in Sai Wan, Shek Tong Tsui, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday, and all supermarkets under JD Kai Bo are offering a 20% discount from yesterday until Monday (Aug. 16 to Aug. 18), drawing large crowds of shoppers.

Currently, Kai Bo Food Supermarket has dozens of "JD-branded" products on its shelves, including fresh items like durians, kiwis, and meat, eggs, and dairy shipped directly from the Mainland.

JD.com stated that all products will adhere to strict quality management and traceability systems to ensure food safety and reliability. Additionally, JD's own branded products, such as its beer and fruit juice, are now available. The company expects to introduce over a hundred JD self-branded and fresh products into Kai Bo supermarkets by the end of the year. Starting yesterday, Kai Bo stores have launched a three-day (Aug. 16 to Aug. 18) storewide 20% discount promotion, along with special benefits for seniors, as they prepare 60,000 mooncake gift boxes, adding a touch of warmth to affordable shopping.
