
The World Football Summit (WFS) will make its first-ever appearance in Hong Kong on Sept. 3-4, 2025, at the AsiaWorld-Expo. This landmark event will bring together over 4,000 global sports industry leaders, legendary football players, and investors to discuss the future of the football industry and solidify HK's role as a leading international sports hub.
Esteemed guests include Italian coaching legend Fabio Capello, Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of the Football Association of HK, China (HKFA), Eric Fok, and former England and Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand.
Representatives from elite football clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, as well as organizations from La Liga, Serie A, K League, and Chinese football institutions, will join local representatives from Kitchee Sports Club and the HK Football Club.
The summit will also highlight the HKFA's youth development program, underscoring the shared vision of nurturing HK's next generation of footballers.
Spread over two days, the event will cover a wide range of topics, including international expansion, Asia's influence in global football, grassroots and youth development, digital transformation, investment and business growth strategies, technology and AI applications, sustainability, and community impact.
HKFA Chairman Eric Fok described the event as an opportunity to showcase HK's status as a pivotal hub in Asian football. Jan Alessie, co-founder of the World Football Summit, emphasized HK's potential to serve as a bridge between East and West, driving professionalization and innovation in Asia's football industry and unlocking new opportunities.
