Fans of the popular Japanese manga character CHIIKAWA are in for a treat as the first overseas branch of the CHIIKAWA-themed ramen shop, Chiikawa Ramen, is set to open on Aug. 16 at Langham Place, Mong Kok. Reservations for the first month (Aug. 16 to Sept. 15) will be available starting tomorrow (Aug. 7) at 1 p.m. exclusively on KKDAY.
Following the reservation system adopted by the original store in Japan, each customer is required to pre-purchase a HK$38 bottle of black oolong tea as a deposit. The tea will be distributed upon arrival and cannot be refunded or deducted from the meal cost.
The new Hong Kong branch recreates the scenes from the manga with meticulous design, including 3D sculptures of the main characters and other themed decorations. Authentic ramen made with ingredients and broth directly sourced from Japan takes center stage on the menu. The ramen portions mirror the manga details with three sizes: Chiikawa (mini), Hachiware (small), and Usagi (large). Each bowl is accompanied by adorable character-themed fish cakes and a matching character sticker.

The drinkware features CHIIKAWA illustrations, and customers can take the bottles home as souvenirs. Ordering drinks also comes with a random character transparency card. Additionally, a variety of CHIIKAWA merchandise, such as ramen bowls, beer mugs, drinking glasses, and face towels, will be available for purchase.
