The Hong Kong Observatory issued a special weather alert today (Aug. 4) at 5:30 pm, indicating that due to the ongoing influence of an active southwest monsoon and high-altitude disturbances, the weather in Hong Kong will remain unstable tomorrow (Aug. 5), with occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms. In the early hours of tomorrow, some areas may experience particularly heavy rainfall, and citizens are advised to pay attention to the Observatory's latest weather updates and warnings before heading out.
The Observatory also emphasized that if citizens are outdoors during heavy rain, they should seek shelter in a safe place until the rain passes. Additionally, they reminded the public to take appropriate precautions to prevent losses due to potential flooding. The Observatory forecasts that as the southwest monsoon weakens, the showers along coastal areas will gradually decrease later this week.
