
The US Department of State initiated a major overhaul last Friday (July 11), cutting over 1,300 jobs and consolidating several offices. According to a report by The Washington Post on Monday (July 14), Secretary of State Rubio merged several departments focused on countering China. Some US officials criticized the restructuring, claiming it contradicts Rubio's stated goal of countering China's influence.
Recently, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang remarked on China's growing dominance in artificial intelligence, stating that Chinese companies are rapidly filling the void left by US firms exiting the Chinese market.
Huang noted that "Chinese competitors have evolved," describing Huawei as "quite formidable." Companies like Tencent, once major buyers of NVIDIA's products, have shifted to Huawei, a move that Huang called "understandable" given their inability to rely on US suppliers anymore.
