The official WeChat account of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison announced today (June 17) that it will hold its 2025 "July 1" open day events to celebrate the 28th anniversary of HK's return to the motherland and the PLA's stationing in HK. The events aim to enhance communication and interaction with various sectors of HK society.
The open day events will take place on June 21 and 22, inviting HK residents to visit military camps. A total of 15,000 tickets will be distributed through the PLA HK garrison's official WeChat account, "香江礪劍", starting tomorrow (June 18) at 10:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. daily on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event highlights include a flag-raising ceremony, military band performances, demonstrations of military skills and equipment, training experiences, visits to the Garrison Exhibition Center, cultural performances, and tastings of military food.
Open locations and hours:
- Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks: June 21 and 22, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Entry closes at 12:00 p.m.)
- Shek Kong Barracks: June 21 and 22, 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Entry closes at 5:30 p.m.)
- San Wai Barracks: June 21 and 22, 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Entry closes at 5:30 p.m.)
