The Hometown Community Carnival began today (June 1) at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay and will run for five days. This year, two new associations from Liaoning and Jilin provinces joined the event, bringing the total to 30. Attendees can explore 300 unique stalls and enjoy nearly 200 cultural performances. One highlight is the "Chinese Food Street," featuring 30 stalls, including Michelin-rated offerings. New AI technologies, like robot noodle and coffee makers, have been introduced to enhance interaction and attract younger visitors.

Secretary for Home Affairs, Eric Chan, noted that the carnival has grown in popularity, becoming an annual event for promoting hometown culture. He emphasized the importance of hometown associations in uniting the community and supporting local development.

Kung Chun-lung, President of The Federation of Hong Kong Guangdong Community Organisations, highlighted the event's focus on technology and sports, featuring a diverse array of performances and activities. The carnival has drawn large crowds, with families enjoying traditional hometown delicacies.
