According to US media reports, US President Donald Trump unexpectedly mocked Elon Musk during a commencement speech at the University of Alabama on May 1. Addressing the graduating class, Trump veered off his prepared remarks while discussing efforts to fix "broken systems" and mentioned Musk in a surprising dig.
As reported by The Daily Beast, Trump boasted about internet figures who had strongly opposed him during his first term but are now supportive of him. He specifically called out Musk, saying, "If you look at some of these internet people, I know so many of them. Elon is so terrific, but I know now all of them, you know, they all hated me in my first term, and now they're kissing my ass," Trump said.
The remarks have sparked curiosity, particularly amid a recent New York Post report on April 29, which cited White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, stating that Musk no longer works at the White House in any official capacity. The report also suggested that Musk is preparing to step down from his position at the Department of Government Efficiency
