Tesla's China website has updated its listings, revealing that the Model S and Model X are no longer available for new orders and are now limited to "Learn More" options only.
The Model X Plaid is currently available in Shanghai for immediate delivery at a price of RMB 902,900, while other regions, including Beijing, Guangdong, Tianjin, and Zhejiang, show no available inventory. For the Model S, immediate deliveries are possible in Beijing, Shanghai, and Zhejiang, with prices ranging from RMB 759,900 to RMB 923,900. However, other regions also report no stock.
Globally, Tesla's Q1 2025 sales data shows that combined deliveries of the Model 3 and Model Y reached 323,800 units, while the total for the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck was 12,800 units.
Although the Model S and Model X are not Tesla's primary sellers, earlier this year, Tesla's Vice President of Automotive Engineering stated that there were no plans to remove these models from the product lineup, confirming that production will continue "for the foreseeable future."
It is worth noting that Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has not yet localized production of the Model S and Model X, which are manufactured at Tesla's Fremont factory in California. The suspension of new orders for these models in China may be linked to reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US.
